Role Specific Training
Role courses are non-subject specific and offer training to support your teaching methods and approaches, whether you are new to technical education or whether you are experienced and want to enhance your practice focused on the challenges of T Levels.
Route Specific Training
Route courses are T Level subject specific. These courses introduce the structure of specific T Levels, explore curriculum models and key considerations for delivery and assessment, as well as looking at approaches for the industry placement and practical skills development.
Teaching T Levels in Schools
Our Teaching and Assessing T Levels in Schools courses are designed to support teachers and staff in schools and sixth forms who are involved in the implementation of T Levels. These courses focus on key elements of delivery, including placements, curriculum planning, and assessment approaches.

Teaching T Levels in FE
The Teaching T Levels in FE course consists of two parts. The Part 2 course is aimed at those who have either attended Part 1 of the course, or who have engaged with the TLPD offer in previous academic years.
Teaching T Levels in FE Part 1
Part 1 of this non-subject specific course is for teachers and staff working directly with T Level learners. There is the opportunity to explore T-Shaped Learning and how to develop learners’ knowledge, skills and behaviours in the context of relevant industry and labour market information. The course will identify professional upskilling opportunities for T Level teachers and staff.
Teaching T Levels in FE Part 2
Part 2 of this non-subject specific course is for teachers and staff working directly with T Level learners. The course will explore curriculum planning for T Levels, identify approaches to use with learners, such as project-based learning, and analyse a range of teaching strategies in T Level delivery, including planning strategies for bringing theory and practice into the classroom.
Assessment in T Levels in FE
Assessment in T Levels in Further Education consists of two parts. Part 2 courses are aimed at those who have either attended Part 1 of the course, or who have engaged with the TLPD offer in previous academic years.
Assessment in T Levels in FE Part 1
Part 1 of this non-subject specific course is designed to help those working directly with learners in T Level delivery and assessment to build an understanding of approaches to T Level assessment. The course will explore pedagogical approaches, practices and strategies for T Level assessment. It will also analyse curriculum models and investigate methods of formative assessment to track progress and develop assessment literacy.
Assessment in T Levels in FE Part 2
Part 2 of this non-subject specific course is designed to help those working directly with learners in T Level delivery and assessment, and will build on the pedagogical approaches, practices and strategies for T Level assessment explored in Part 1. This Part 2 course will analyse strategies to support learners for T Level summative assessment and identify formative assessment approaches to enable learners’ success.
EMBEDDED ENGLISH, MATHS AND DIGITAL FOR T LEVELS
Embedded English, maths and digital for T Levels consists of two parts. Part 2 courses are aimed at those who have either attended Part 1 of the course, or who have engaged with the TLPD offer in previous academic years.
Embedded English, maths and digital for T Levels Part 1
Part 1 of this course is for teachers working directly with learners in the delivery and assessment of T Levels, including staff in school sixth forms, Further Education, and other settings. The course is designed to build confidence and skills for teachers in delivering the embedded English, maths and digital (EMD) content and will explore the EMD competencies and suggest how these can be used to develop EMD skills of learners in a range of T Level contexts.
Embedded English, maths and digital for T Levels Part 2
Part 2 of this course will explore practical strategies that will support practitioners who are already in delivery, as well as pre-delivery and those who may have taken an Embedded English, maths and digital course in the past. This course will use practical activities to explore the development of learners’ EMD competencies and analyse approaches for applying and transferring the explicit skills needed by learners into T Levels.
Teaching and Assessing T Levels in Schools
In addition to the Teaching T Levels in FE course, we also offer a Teaching and Assessing T Levels in Schools course for staff in schools and sixth forms.

Teaching and Assessing T Levels in Schools Part 1
(This course consists of two bitesize courses – Dual Professionalism for Teachers and Industry Placements for Learners; and Curriculum Planning and Effective Pedagogy).
Part 1 of this course is for school teachers and staff who are involved in the implementation of T Levels. The course will explore T Levels, maintaining a clear focus on their role in offering a pathway to the workplace for learners. It will cover what to consider when preparing for industry placement, as well as curriculum planning and pedagogical practices when designing a curriculum.
Teaching and Assessing T Levels in Schools Part 2
(This course consists of two bitesize courses – Embedded English, Maths and Digital in T Levels and Implications for Assessment; and Preparing Learners for Assessment Success).
Part 2 of this course is for school teachers and staff who are involved in the implementation of T Levels. The course will analyse the summative assessments of T Levels, explore the embedded English, maths and digital components and how to prepare learners for success. It will also consider curriculum and formative assessment planning around the assessment windows.
Dual Professionalism for Teachers and Industry Placements for Learners
This course will explore labour market information and a line of sight to work as well as dual professionalism. There will be considerations in this course when preparing for industry placement.
Curriculum Planning and Effective Pedagogy
The course will explore curriculum planning and pedagogical practices when designing a curriculum.
Embedded English, maths and digital in T Levels and Implications for Assessment
The course will explore the embedded English, maths and digital competencies that underpin the skills that learners will use in the relevant industries.
Preparing Learners for Assessment Success
This course will explore assessment considerations and preparing learners for success in the different assessment approaches.

TEACHING T LEVELS IN THE POST-16 SECTOR
This course is designed to support teachers who are delivering – or preparing to deliver – T Levels. It explores the theories, approaches and methods that are integral to T Level teaching – from Bloom’s Taxonomy to re-contextualisation. Complete this course at your own pace via the online learning platform (six guided learning hours).
ASSESSMENT IN T LEVELS
Assessment in T Levels in Further Education consists of two parts. Part 2 courses are aimed at those who have either attended Part 1 of the course, or who have engaged with the TLPD offer in previous academic years.
This course explores the assessment approaches used in the T Level(s) you teach, possible approaches to formative assessment and how to best support your learners for assessment success. Complete this course at your own pace via the online learning platform (six guided learning hours).

This course is designed to support teachers who are delivering – or preparing to deliver – T Levels in schools. These courses are designed to support teachers who are delivering – or preparing to deliver – T Levels. These courses explore how to develop learners’ English skills via the General English Competencies (GECs), the General Maths Competencies (GMCs) and the General Digital Competencies (GDCs) that are embedded in T Levels. You will find these courses linked to your subject-specific course in a learning path on the online learning platform. You can complete these courses at your own pace via the (six guided learning hours each).

In-house courses for T Level providers
The Education Training Foundation (ETF) is pleased to offer in-house delivery on a range of T Level Professional Development (TLPD) courses for groups of practitioners.
Developed by ETF and funded by the Department for Education (DfE), these courses are designed to support Further Education (FE) and Skills providers who are delivering or preparing to deliver T Levels across a range of routes and contexts.
They are led by Sector Delivery Partners who can share valuable insights based on their extensive knowledge and delivery experience.
