Empower neurodiverse learners for work with proven self-advocacy strategies. In this Luminate Education Group session, you will explore how to nurture learner confidence through inclusive staff training and reasonable adjustments. Gain practical insights into supporting successful transitions into employment, apprenticeships, and independent adulthood.

Programme aim

In this Luminate Education Group–led session, participants will explore the evidence-based strategies successfully trialled and embedded to develop confidence and self-advocacy skills in neurodiverse learners.

The session highlights the pivotal role staff play in nurturing these competencies, moving beyond basic support to empower learners to understand their unique strengths, needs, and legal rights. By examining how to cultivate a culture of independence, attendees will learn how to prepare neurodiverse students to navigate both educational environments and the complexities of the modern world of work.

Participants will gain insight into how professional development approaches directly impact learner outcomes, specifically regarding positive transitions into employment, apprenticeships, and adulthood. By the end of the session, attendees will have a clearer understanding of how to implement adjustments that do not just provide access, but actively enable learners to move forward with the self-assurance required for long-term professional success.
