Programme aim

Governors are required to ensure that all learners, particularly those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) can access education provision that meets their needs. 

This course aims to: 

  • raise your awareness of the breadth, depth and complexity of the work your organisation should be doing to support learners with SEND 

  • provide you with insight and understanding so you can support but also challenge your organisation in this area 

  • give you an indication of policy changes and priorities to support your board’s strategic planning. 

Who is this for?

This proficient-level course is aimed at governors who are working towards chairing a committee, or those currently serving as a committee chair for less than two years. Proficient-level courses move beyond an introductory level of learning and develop practical skills that can support the leadership of key governance functions. 

Programme structure

This is an eLearning course which will take on average 30 minutes to complete.
