This course helps ESOL teachers boost learner engagement and motivation through a focus on avoiding grammar overload and creating lessons that are interactive, contextualised and cognitively accessible.
Programme aim
Participants explore the use of digital, AI as well as non-digital 'no-tech' resources, cognitive load theory and constructive alignment, then apply these to starters, retrieval tasks, formative assessment and activities integrating all four skills. Delivered by ESOL specialists, it supports teachers to refresh their practice and plan more engaging sessions from start to finish.
Who is this for?
This course is for ESOL teachers working with any learner group who want to refresh their practice, strengthen engagement, and develop a more holistic approach to lesson design. It is suitable for both new teachers looking for structured guidance and experienced practitioners seeking new ideas to reinvigorate their sessions.

This 2-part course is 4 hours total.
