Who is this for?
This programme is for:
- New and aspiring middle leaders in the FE and skills sector.
- Existing middle leaders with responsibility and accountability for a functional area or curriculum department.
- Individuals with limited prior management or leadership training.
- Colleagues from all parts of the FE and skills sector, seeking to develop leadership confidence, capability, and impact within their organisation.
Programme structure
This programme has slightly different structures depending on how it is being delivered:
- Fully online cohorts are delivered across six sessions.
- Blended in-person and online cohorts are delivered across four sessions.
Structure may vary slightly, please check the individual cohort for exact dates and times of sessions.

CORE LEARNINGS
Leadership self-awareness and practice - reflect on your role as a middle leader and apply effective leadership behaviours.
You'll take the time to increase your confidence in leading teams and managing multiple and competing responsibilities.
Develop your strategic thinking so you can align your teams to department and organisational goals.
Gain the ability to use effective approaches to optimise team performance and support staff development constructively.
Keep a focus on wellbeing and resilience so you can promote wellbeing for yourself and your team while demonstrating resilience in managing competing priorities.
Learn how to apply principals of cultural competence and inclusive leadership while fostering an inclusive and diverse team environment at your organisation.
Be able to design and implement a focused learning action to address a real workplace challenge and evaluate impact and next steps for ongoing leadership development.
For Department for Education (DfE)-funded courses, a limited number of fully funded places are available to participants.
These places are offered to support greater diversity in access to high-quality CPD. To qualify, participants must either:
• consider themselves to have a disability; or
• come from a Black or minority ethnic community.

If you do not qualify for a fully funded place, full course fee per participant is £325.
