Digital Skills Enhancement Programme
This is an introductory course designed to build confidence in the use of AI across further education and skills. It provides a practical foundation in AI fundamentals, effective prompting, and the use of AI tools to enhance teaching, learning and learner engagement.
Programme aim
The training aims are to:
- build confidence in using AI tools appropriately within FE & skills settings
- develop a clear understanding of AI fundamentals and their relevance to teaching and learning
- enable practical use of AI, including effective prompting and everyday applications
- support informed and responsible decision-making around ethics, data privacy and bias
- equip staff with actionable strategies to integrate AI into learner-facing practice
- empower professionals to critically evaluate AI tools and contribute to digital transformation and innovation within their organisations.
Who is this for?
This course is for further education and skills professionals who are new to AI and want a practical, safe starting point.

1 x 90 minute session live online

Entry requirements
To participate in this course please have:
- access to a laptop with broadband and Chrome/Edge browser.
- basic familiarity with everyday digital tools (no prior AI experience necessary).
- registered, logged in and access to the tools to e.g., ChatGPT and Gemini AI or your preferred free AI platform
