Specialist Status Checklist

Our specialist statuses are not qualifications or courses, instead they recognise a specialism you've already established. To help you be sure that this is the right approach for you, please review the statement below.

If they describe you and your practice, then please call us on 0800 083 1830 to secure your place on our next cohort.

About my role, setting and experience

  • I am currently working in an educational setting (this can be paid or voluntary).
  • My role allows me to demonstrate impact of my work on learners, colleagues, and the wider organisation.
  • My organisation is aware of a supportive of my participation in the programme.
  • I lead, design, and implement initiatives that deliver significant and sustainable organisational change.

About the programme and what's involved

  • I understand that this is a validation programme, and as such is not a traditional CPD course or qualification, and does not include learning guided hours, learning outcomes, learning materials or tutorial support.
  • I understand this is a 12-16 week online validation process, and although is self-paced, there are programme deadlines that I will need to meet within the 12-16 week programme.
  • I understand I will be required to demonstrate, reflect on and evidence my existing practice at an advanced level, rather than complete prescribed lessons.
  • I have already completed, or have the capacity to complete, a project and evaluate its impact on learners, colleagues and the wider organisation.
  • My current commitments allow me to attend a 2-hour mandatory peer review meeting, arranged collaboratively with other participants in the same programme.
  • I am aware that the programme may run throughout half-term, Easter and summer holidays and I am happy to accommodate the peer review meeting within the programme timescale.
