Programme aim

'Understanding How We Learn’ is one of two courses designed to support provider staff as they transition from assessing to teaching.

It will explore how learning takes place and introduce some theories of learning that will help with apprenticeship delivery.

The course will also suggest some tools and approaches for engaging apprentices with different needs and backgrounds. 

Who is this for?

This programme has been designed for Delivery Staff.

Delivery staff are staff in apprenticeship providers who have just made – or are preparing to make – the transition from assessing to teaching. 

Programme structure

This is an eLearning course which will take on average two to three hours.

What will you gain?

Explore the impact of teachers on learners, the four key learning theories and three teaching concepts (including Bloom’s Taxonomy, the growth mindset and flipped learning).

Consider how to enhance learner enjoyment, seek support from sector organisations and boost teacher resilience.
