Developed by the Education Training Foundation (ETF), the ETF Transition to Senior Leadership programme empowers experienced middle leaders to make a successful, impactful move into strategic roles within the FE and skills sector.​

Programme aim

This programme aims to empower future senior leaders focuses on developing the confidence, capability and strategic leadership mindset needed to operate effectively at a senior level in complex educational organisations.

Explore new perspectives and develop more strategic, future-focused ways of working.

Who is this for?

Experienced middle leaders who are aspiring to become senior leaders in the further education (FE) and skills sector.

You may be a middle leader who is either preparing to step into a strategic role or are exploring the next steps. 

Participants are typically at the stage where they are looking to or will be about to move from leading teams and functions to shaping direction

Programme structure

Four-month blended development journey including:

  • three two-hour online modules
  • one immersive two-night fully inclusive residential
  • two sessions of personalised 1:1 coaching.
