The British Transport Police joins as an ETF Partner
We’re excited to share that the British Transport Police has joined the Education Training Foundation (ETF) as an ETF Partner, marking a long‑term commitment to high‑quality professional development and sustained organisational growth.
Through ETF partnership, the British Transport Police will gain access to membership, connecting them to a national community of educators, professional learning resources, and shared teaching and training standards. ETF Partnership also provides structured, personalised support from a dedicated Customer Success Manager, who will work with leaders to align CPD activity with organisational priorities and embed sustainable development practices.
"In a first for UK policing, we’ve signed a new partnership with the Education Training Foundation (ETF), which is the recognised professional body for the Further Education and skills workforce in the UK. Through our partnership we’ll be able to demonstrate that our training meets required national standards whilst also giving our trainers access to a suite of ETF resources and new opportunities for continuous professional development. This is especially important as we prepare for the introduction of the Police Constable Entry Programme (PCEP) and refreshed Public and Personal Safety Training (PPST), both of which are licensed by the College of Policing with set requirements.
The ETF will work alongside us as a long-term partner, providing independent expertise, national benchmarking and external challenge that will help us to shape a consistent professional standard for all our trainers, instructors and learning professionals. Our trainers do an outstanding job and we recognise their expertise and commitment, and the qualifications and professionalism they already have. Now, as ETF members, they’ll have access to additional personalised CPD, mentoring opportunities and national communities of practice to support them in maintaining and enhancing their teaching skills. It’s an exciting investment that reflects our commitment to modernising our learning and development provision for the Force.”
