Impact Report 2024-25
The Education Training Foundation (ETF) launched its latest Impact Report in September 2025, showcasing how it has equipped the further education (FE) and skills workforce over the last year to meet the evolving needs of learners, employers and communities – and to play a vital role in delivering the UK Government’s mission-led agenda.
Covering activity in 2024–25, the report details ETF’s work towards driving professionalism, improving teaching and learning, championing inclusion and enabling sector change for a resilient and future-ready FE and skills system.
Driving professionalism through our professional standards and statuses:
- 615 FE and Skills practitioners were awarded Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status, and 16 professionals achieved Advanced Teacher Status (ATS).
- 100% of those who achieved ATS said that it has had a positive impact on their practice.
- 99% of professionals who achieved QTLS reported it has had a positive impact on their teaching practice
Improving teaching and learning by enabling the FE and skills workforce to deliver T Levels, Apprenticeships and other qualifications with confidence:
- 94% of professionals said ETF’s maths, English and English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) continuing professional development (CPD) will have a positive impact on their professional practice.
- 96% of Apprenticeship Workforce Development (AWD) participants agreed they would apply their learning to influence their future planning.
- the T Level Professional Development (TLPD) programme saw over 11,800 engagements from more than 6,300 individuals with 92% of saying it improved their knowledge.
Championing inclusion to promote inclusive and anti-racist leadership, and to support learners with SEND:
- 97% of SEND (special educational needs and/or disabilities) CPD participants said it will have a positive impact on their professional practice.
- There were 599 engagements with ETF’s Inclusive Leadership programme, with 100% of participants feeling better equipped to lead change within their organisation.
Enabling sector change by supporting high quality leadership, governance, and practitioner research to drive continuous improvement:
- 100% of senior leaders said they are more confident in their role after taking part in one of our leadership programmes.
- Leaders who allocate time and resources to organisational improvement nearly doubled – from 44% to 87% – after taking part in our leadership programmes.
- Through our Practitioner Research Programme, 10 teaching professionals began studying for an MPhil qualification to advance teaching practice across the sector.
