To support their delivery of the Construction and the Built Environment T Level, The City of Liverpool College completed an Industry Insights Group Industry Placement. Placements are part of the T Level Professional Development (TLPD) offer, which is delivered by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) and funded by the Department for Education.
How has the City of Liverpool College used CPD opportunities to support staff industry upskilling?
Through the City of Liverpool College’s CPD industry upskilling day, the College collaborated with ETF’s Area Regional Development Lead (ARDL) and Industry Insights team to enable an entire department of construction educators to gain skills and industry experience. This initiative enabled them to partner with the Liverpool Lightbody Street development to work on solar powered energy and sustainable building practices.
What impact has the Group Industry Placement had on construction educators at the College?
This Group Industry Placement provided the team with a detailed insight into modern building services techniques and the importance of on-site health and safety. This experience has been very beneficial, equipping staff with current industry knowledge and intelligence.
How has the College benefitted from taking part in the Industry Insights Programme?
Beyond this placement, the College has actively engaged with a range of elements from the Industry Insights Programme, including industry networks, employer workshops, and Individual Industry Placements with employers. As a result, they have developed strong employer links, with several employers becoming guest speakers and engaging directly with T Level learners at the College as part of the T Level programme delivery.
