The long-term impact
By the end of this programme participants will be better placed to:
- understand their place, purpose and influence as a leader on inclusivity in their organisation
- identify different techniques and skills for effecting change within an organisation
- learn to analyse issues relating to inclusion using a systems approach in their organisation
- build a knowledge base of effective inclusive leadership practices relating to a variety of topics based on evidence and case studies
- learn to plan effectively for interventions to increase inclusivity within their organisation
This programme will help FE and skills leaders clarify the change they want to effect, develop the skills they need to affect that change and model the behaviour that is needed to create meaningful and effective impact in their organisations.

Programme structure
The online programme will consist of one core module and four optional modules. Participants are required to complete at least the core and one option module to complete the training. The core module is generic to all leadership roles whereas option modules provide the opportunity to differentiate, depending on the leader’s role, remit, and/or development need.

- Introducing inclusive leadership in FES
Option modules
- Barriers to and mechanisms for facilitating inclusion in your organisation
- Identifying and implementing positive and productive change, creating a culture of inclusivity within non-academic teams
- Leading inclusive curriculum
- The digital age: cause or cure
Each module is designed to account for seven hours of learning. This incorporates:
- two and a half hours of self-directed learning (completed prior to live online workshop)
- two hours live online workshop
- two and a half hours hour post-workshop workplace activity.
Self-directed learning will be hosted via an online virtual learning environment and comprise of reading, videos, case studies and interactive quizzes.
To allow participants wider flexibility to engage, balanced against their busy calendar schedules, the course will operate as roll-on roll-off meaning participants can join at any time. The core module will run across three separate cohorts, with each programme covering a six week period across the project lifecycle.
